Dance Marathon at The University of Alabama (UA Miracle) is highly committed to raising awareness and funds for our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital: Children’s of Alabama. Miracle Network Dance Marathon is a nationwide movement that has raised over $350 million for the 170 Children’s Miracle Network hospitals since 1991, and it is continuously growing year after year. 100% of donations to UA Miracle go to Children’s of Alabama (COA) to fund charitable care, lifesaving medical equipment, child life services, research, and education at the hospital.
Over the past fifteen years, UA Miracle has seen immense growth from our campus and the Tuscaloosa community. With the help of our surrounding neighbors, we have been able to raise over $3 million since our inception for the patients treated and their families at Children’s of Alabama. This incredible growth over the years reflects our commitment to the children at COA. Our eSorts were even recognized at the 2026 Ignite: peer-to-peer leadership conference where our program was given the Excellence in Organization Management award and invited to present a session to our fellow Miracle Network Dance Marathon participants. Students at UA help to ensure no child battles childhood illness or injury alone. This year, we hope to once again dramatically increase our donations to COA because kids can’t wait.

About UA Miracle
UA Miracle is the largest student-led philanthropic organization on campus, and none of what we do could be accomplished without our executive board members. Each member works to build a strong sector of students who come together to make lasting impacts on children’s health. Celebrating 15 years of UA Miracle and $3 million raised!
2025-2026
We’ve had a record breaking year.And we’re ready to do it again.
Last year students and supporting organizations were able to break a UA Miracle fundraising record, raising over $394,000 for Children’s of Alabama. This accomplishment allowed UA Miracle to surpass a total of $3 million dollars raised for the hospital in the last 15 years. Through recruiting “miracle makers,” gaining corporate and local sponsorships, and having an engaged staff of student leaders, UA miracle consistently changes the lives of children in our state.
The total you see above is the final part of our 12 hour fundraising event, BAMAthon, which is held in February of each year. At BAMAthon, students and community members celebrate our year-long fundraising efforts with one final fundraising event. The University of Alabama’s campus comes together to stand for those who can’t because Kids Can’t Wait. We hope you will contribute to another record breaking year.
Your Children’s Miracle Network Hospital
Since 1911, Children’s of Alabama has provided specialized medical care for ill and injured children, offering inpatient, outpatient and primary care throughout central Alabama. Ranked among the best children’s hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, Children’s serves patients from every county in Alabama and nearly every state.
Children’s is a private, not-for-profit medical center that serves as the teaching hospital for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) pediatric medicine, surgery, psychiatry, research and residency programs.

Meet Margaret Anne
Margaret Anne was first diagnosed with Wilms tumor in 2017 and underwent a successful nephrectomy at Children’s. During a routine follow-up, doctors discovered a second tumor on her left kidney that required chemotherapy and surgery. She soon began treatment, started kindergarten, and named her tumor “Wilma.”
After chemotherapy, surgeons removed part of her left kidney. Margaret Anne is a happy, active kid who dreams of cheerleading for the University of Alabama and working as a healthcare professional to help others.
