About UA Miracle

About

Our mission is to provide yearlong support for our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Children’s of Alabama. All efforts benefit the children who are treated at Children’s of Alabama and their families.

UA Miracle is the largest student-led philanthropic organization here at the Capstone. We help to raise awareness and provide financial and emotional assistance to the children and families undergoing treatment at our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Children’s of Alabama, in Birmingham, AL. UA Miracle is part of the Miracle Network Dance Marathon movement, involving college and high school students at over 400 campuses across the nation. Together, we raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network hospital in our communities, and UA Miracle is proud to have become a tradition on campus and in the community throughout the past 13 years. These students spend a year learning invaluable leadership and social skills while raising funds through $100 Day, Child Health Day, Miracle Mania, (and more!) as well as interacting with our miracle families. The year culminates with a 12 hour long event where the students stay together through dancing, games, and entertainment in order to celebrate the total amount raised that year. Why stay for that long? To quote the first Children’s Miracle Network Dance Marathon’s mission statement: “We stay for those who can’t.” It is this solidarity to and connection with the cause that makes UA Miracle an event unlike any other.

We stay for those who can’t.
